Tesla Wins South Korean FSD Refund Lawsuit
A South Korean court rejected owners' refund claims for Full Self-Driving after finding no guarantee of unsupervised autonomy.
The Seoul Central District Court ruled for Tesla on Thursday in a case brought by owners who bought FSD between 2019 and 2022. Judges determined that buyers received driver-assistance features that improve over time rather than a promise of full autonomy by a set date.
The court also dismissed arguments tied to Hardware 3 hardware limitations and the later addition of a supervised label and subscriptions. The decision applies only to this South Korean case but may support Tesla's position in similar disputes elsewhere.
Owners had argued that vehicles sold since 2017 still require human supervision nearly a decade later.
