The new build carries the same release notes as the prior version. It includes upgrades to the reinforcement learning stage, vision encoder, and AI compiler for faster reaction times.

Additional changes address lane biasing, parking decisions, emergency vehicle responses, and handling of rare objects. Driver monitoring sensitivity has also improved.

HW3 vehicles receive distilled intelligence from HW4 models, enabling better navigation, merges, and comfort features.

Why it mattersFSD drivers on early access receive the same capability improvements without new release notes to review.
  1. Tesla released update 2026.38.5.11 with FSD v14.3.13.1
  2. The release notes remain the same as update 2026.38.5.10.1
  3. FSD v14.3.13 upgrades include RL training, vision encoder, and MLIR compiler rewrite for 20% faster reaction time.1

Tesla Shows Roadster Cockpit Display and Track Mode

Tesla released a video of the next Roadster's fighter-jet-inspired touchscreen interface that includes a detailed Track Mode.

Tesla posted a 34-second video on X showing the Roadster's central display. The interface centers on a 3D car model and includes tabs for Home, Vehicle, Listen, Climate and Navigate.

Track Mode displays a live circuit map, lap times, brake and motor temperatures, and individual tire pressures and temperatures. Drivers can select aero modes, adjust aero and brake balance, and disable stability and traction control.

A status bar shows Thruster at 5,500 PSI with a Boost Ready indicator. The Roadster is on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles from October 24 to 27.

Why it mattersFSD drivers may see similar telemetry or interface elements appear in future Tesla software updates.

Tesla App Adds Tablet and Foldable Interface

Tesla released app version 4.62.3 with a redesigned two-column layout for iPads, tablets and foldable phones.

The update replaces the stretched phone layout on larger devices with a two-column design. Navigation sits on the left while a larger vehicle visualization occupies the right side, and several controls now appear directly on the rendering.

Major panels including Climate, Location, Self-Driving, Summon and Charging now use the expanded screen. The vehicle view includes ambient background, reflections and buttons for frunk, trunk, charge port and locks.

Tesla also added code references to future FSD referrals and X Money payment support.

Why it mattersFSD drivers gain easier access to the Self-Driving panel and detailed vehicle status on tablets without extra taps.

  1. Version 4.62.3 arrived on October 22, 2026, with support for tablets and iPhone Duo devices.2
  2. On most screens the app now spans the full width with large visualizations nearly identical to those inside the vehicle.1
  3. Panels that benefit include Climate, Location, Self-Driving, Summon and Charging.1
  4. The redesign moves buttons for frunk, trunk, charge port and locks onto the vehicle visualization.2

Intel to Manufacture Mystery Chip for Tesla

Tesla will use Intel's upcoming 14A process for an unspecified chip that could be AI6 or a new design.

Image: Not a Tesla App

Tesla has added Intel as a foundry customer for its 14A manufacturing process. Neither company has disclosed the chip's purpose or any financial details.

The deal is separate from the earlier Terafab project involving Tesla, SpaceX, and Intel. AI5 already uses a dual-foundry approach with Samsung and TSMC, so the Intel agreement may secure extra capacity for future AI silicon.

Intel's 14A node targets 2028 production and is positioned against TSMC's 1.4 nm-class process, making AI6 a possible candidate.

Why it mattersExtra foundry capacity could help ensure supply of advanced AI hardware that powers future FSD software updates.
  1. Tesla has agreed to become a foundry customer for Intel’s upcoming 14A manufacturing process.1
  2. Neither side has said what chip Intel will actually build.1
  3. Earlier this year, Tesla and SpaceX partnered with Intel on the Terafab project.1
  4. AI5 already follows a dual-foundry strategy with Samsung and TSMC.1
